So after the story appeared (above), I made it into a Podcast/Audio clip.

Yet, maybe some out there would like to watch the cat face and listen, so now I have made it as a one shot video story.

Yep, stories come in all sorts of packaging around here.

Book Trailer of “Self-Portrait of Someone Else”

Self-Portrait of Someone Else, Vincent Eaton, novel, book trailer

You’ll remember my series of videos for my humor book, “How to Find Yourself (or a reasonable facsimile)”–five in all. Now another book, completely different, and thus with a different approach.

“Self-Portrait of Someone Else” was originally published by Viking Penguin, N.Y. and is re-issued by hidden people limited. I suppose one could call it a psychological suspense thriller. Originally it was presented as a literary novel.

The approach I take with this video is more like a book trailer, giving a dramatic taste of the book. A “Teaser”, as they say in the biz.

Hope you like. If you like, spread. Thanks for reading this.

P.S.
If you want to read a couple of stand-alone extracts of the novel, to get another sort of “taste”, here’s a link to ONE STORY and a SECOND STORY.

Favorite excerpts read from “How to Find Yourself…”

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Yes! Actual readers reading their favorite excerpts from my humor book, “How to Find Yourself (or a reasonable facsimile)”. Listen to the best bits read out loud!

This is the last in the series. Many kind brave foolhardy friends and actors and the mainly naive gave of their time and talent for a number of videos wherein they were being wonderful. What I had hoped and planned and aimed was amusing stuff. Just to see. Anyone buying anything was a big extra. But to the people who starred & made these videos worthwhile–double cheek kisses.
kiss-face-angels
I’m not big on selling. It’s why I’m where I am today. Where that is will remain undisclosed for now. But I like fooling around in a serious way. And these videos were part of this, to use a horribly fashionable word, “Process”. And I’m trying things out as I launch this publishing company. What works best, what works less. What I feel like doing, what I’m capable of doing.

Oh and that’s it for How To for now. I’ve been writing and posting a lot recently; will tomorrow, too. Things popping, but I will have some series playwriting to do between now and the beginning of 2010. Rehearsals begin in a month and I got…no, that’s for tomorrow (after this evening’s final auditions).

To the point here! Watch the video here.

Leave comments–here or YouTube–pass this around! Rate it five stars and hug me online!

A song, the businessman, memory lapse, an actor with scruples

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Another week, another video.

In performing what is often called Promotion for this first book that my publishing company is launching, one would offer to the market a single video, maybe two. I, however, have more than just a couple of videos, mainly because I enjoy making them and have talented people willing and at hand.

Anyway, I have little interest in “offering to the market”. How about just entertaining some folks who like the kind of stuff I do.

The four bits in this video did not find their way into last week’s “Reader Testimonials” video (see my previous blog post) because they deserved more room, more breathing space, were slightly different in approach than the others (each unfolds over time) and hey they cut well together.

As always, hope you who read this enjoy this offering. Make a comment on the YouTube comments page, or this blog if you are so inclined. Mostly, if you like, that’s enough. If you want to pass along to others you know, happy days all around.

Next week, another vid. I think it’ll be one where they read out favorite bits from the book.
