This blog post is my initial "teaser", as they say in the biz. Must read or unique doesn't come into it at this point, which indicates my interest lies more in the writing than in the promoting; and thus it always was. A squeeze for me to jump up and down on interest street corners yelling, Pay attention to me. My blurb was as close as I could come to pushing the product. That's why some of these stories have been published previously online, and I'll be posting them as the launch progressing, believing the excerpts of this product will beguile in the sample readings. I'll do a video, and another explanatory blog, and then move it some more.... Thanks for taking the time.... Vincent

Sounds promising but not unique, would like to know more about the context or do these stories relay universal truths about the human or canine condition? Colm Toibin uses Ireland as the backcloth or context for many of his short stories. I presume Belgium or Brussels may feature but as we live in an international ghetto that may not be relevant. I just miss the 'must read' element in this synopsis: fair or unfair?

Comments directly received on this story by the author.

The grace of this story comes from the master telling.

The tender connection between the boy and the woman emerges slowly, then builds. In poignant dialogue, the characters are revealed; how they repeat/share the license plate reflected compassion, the touching of two hearts, each carrying an ache.

Thanks for sharing, Vincent.

Congrats, dear Vincent, very good work indeed. It has a straight solemn tone that reminds me of your novel. You have done some other things that are deliberately frivolous in a way that doesn't happen to appeal to me, but this kind of work is valuable and, I'm glad to see, appreciated. Bravo. All the best, Cleve
