If you haven’t been listening to these yet, this clip is a good place to start. It can be listened to (or read, see below) almost as a stand-alone story, that is, it holds up without your having to know a great deal of what’s gone before.
To listen, Podcast of “Self-Portrait of Someone Else”, PART TWO – 6
It is a 30-minute plus audio clip (or podcast), so save it for a nice, long moment. These clips, as you may know, happen every Monday, and I’m getting (or the audio clips are getting) as regular as happy intestines digesting proper food and end that metaphor here.
This was also excerpt you can read here and that I posted previously. It was originally published in “Other Voices”, a once big deal literary magazine out of Chicago, now defunct.
Enjoy, and thanks for reading.

This Friday, instead of my usual short-short Noises from the House story, I have a longer story that has just been published online at The Cortland Review issue 46.
The story is called “Interruptions” and is taken from my collection of short stories that will be published near Christmas this year under the title, “Intimate Dialogues”.
Hope you like. The link: INTERRUPITONS at The Cortland Review. Thanks for any commentary you have…

As I’m beginning to introduce the re-issue of my novel, Self-Portrait of Someone Else, into the big, wide world via blog, video, email, social networks and whatever else comes up, I want anyone interested to be able to read a sizeable chunk of the book. Just as you might when browsing a bookstore. And for free.
And yesyesyes, if they/you likey, buy the sucker.
Previously, I’ve put up two stand-alone story excerpts on this blog. You can also read/download those excerpts here at Hidden People.
Today I’m posting the first 70 pages of Self-Portrait of Someone Else (out of 244 pgs) in pdf. This way you can download the excerpt right to your hard disc or eReader—if it supports pdf files—and have at it during your grand and roomy leisure.
Here’s the link, along with that wondrous American word that sends you on your way, as though to a tasty meal: enjoy!)– Self-Portrait of Someone Else – first 70 pgs
PS
Oh! You want to see the suspense-thriller bookie-trailer-type thing? Lucky, lucky you, just happen to have the link HERE–THE VIDEO.
PSS
I’m using a rather chatty, throw-away style talking about this rather serious, intense book that got a lot of good reviews on its initial release and which I’ll bring up at another time, but using this chatty-shatty tone can happen when I feel I’m getting into buy-marketing-promoting-show-off mode; so I cover me up.

As I’ve doing this blog, I’m finding what I want to put here (getting a better focus on it).

Here’s my new routine on this blog thingie:
Monday’s I’ll post audio clips of my books. I’m beginning here with the very beginning”Self-Portrait of Someone Else”. Each Monday, the next chapter…until it’s all there….

Wednesday’s I’ll post info on my writing or publishing or new videos or stuff in general.

Friday’s I’ll post a story. Often a “Noise in the House” short fiction piece (less than 1000 words, usually not more than 500 words). Or bits from whatever book I’m releasing into the world as a publication at that moment.
There, that will keep me out of trouble and, for interested visitors, a guideline to go by. Of course, if I evolve another idea for running this thing, you’ll be the second to know (I’ll be the first).
So, without further delay, my first audio post.
PART ONE, CHAPTER 1, “Self-Portrait of Someone Else”
Click here (option to download and make it a podcast if you right click and Save Source – listen when you want) :01 – PART ONE-Chap1
(Sound like a plan?) See you Wednesday….

Once upon a time, Viking-Penguin big time publisher put out my first novel, “Self-Portrait of Someone Else”. It was re-issued in late 2009.
It is available in paperback.

BOOKLIST reviewed it by saying, “…a dramatically suspenseful yarn, imaginatively told…”. Bridgeport Post said, “…compelling…strong suspense…harrowing…”
.
Here’s a free .pdf file of a self-contained excerpt, called “It must have been great to be alive before I was born”, for downloading and reading at your leisure.
Here’s a link to the Hidden People publishing site if this excerpt gives you a tingle and you want to explore further
Enjoy the read…

This week I offered a somewhat serious side to business, called The Job Interview. Today, a more humorous (or still somewhat serious?) story about a man who wants to find himself in business.
This story to read here is from my How To Find Yourself humor book. It is called Business & Identity. Or how to find yourself through business.
We’re just trying to keep the universe in balance here….
Enjoy….

Once upon a time, Viking-Penguin big time publisher put out my first novel, “Self-Portrait of Someone Else”. It was quietly re-issued in late 2009.
That means it is for sale in its new paperback form.

The New York Times Sunday Book Review called it “a brave literary debut”. Publisher’s Weekly called it “ striking first novel”.
Here’s a free .pdf file of a self-contained excerpt, called “The Job Interview”, for downloading and reading at your leisure.
Here’s a link to the Hidden People publishing site if this excerpt gives you a tingle and you want to buy the novel.
Enjoy your read…

This first blog is giving you, O Visitor, the lay of land of what you will find here.
NOTE ON MARCH 26, 2010 — AS THIS BLOG AS EVOLVED, THE CATEGORIES SPOKEN OF BELOW HAVE BEEN MODIFIED & SIMPLIFIED INTO WHAT IS NOW REFLECTED IN THE BLOG POSTS…
My Writing.
My fiction, plays, ebooks, multimedia, humor, autobiography, audio/podcasting…
My Publishing.
How and what my own independent company is doing, what’s going on there, what’s coming up, what you can to buy, what you can get free (lots).
Images & Performance.
My videos, acting and theater work.
Noises in the House.
Short self-contained autobiography/stories
The Rest of the Blah-Blah.
Whatever doesn’t fit in those four categories, will find a clambering life here. Like this blog post.
Intensions/instincts
While these are my intentions, things can change quicker than a famished kitten going after it’s mother’s nipple, so my real intention here is to follow my instincts. And what comes up, comes up.
On Posting.
I won’t be posting ten times a day. As necessary is the vague enough fallback position. Twice a week sounds reasonable. Maybe three times once in a while, again, only as necessary. This week, five, defining a bit more extensively what to expect in each of my categories.
On Shorter Noises
Other shorter noises I make can find a better, more temporary life on my Facebook and Twitter posts.
There.
First post done.
Am I online famous yet?
