Story – Fifteen reasons why we should stay together

He said to her, “I can name fifteen reasons why we should stay together.”
She waited over on the other side of the room, her arms crossed, waiting to hear his reasons.
He said, “One, I love you.”
She waited some more. She got tired of waiting, so said, “And?”
“The other fourteen don’t matter, just the first one.”
She continued waiting over there on her side of the room, arms still crossed, wondering how to tell him that that just wasn’t enough reason any more.

    Nice compact piece. So sad.

  3. I think his problem is not delivering on a promise. He said fifteen reasons. I think his partner could reasonably expect to hear them! I’m with her on the other side of the room.

  4. Doesn’t he know that actions speak louder than words? 😉 A nice little slice of life that says it all. 🙂

Apparently she has sixteen reasons why they shouldn’t stay together.

I thinks she crosses her arms in order not to melt down.

Short and effective piece – great work!Particularly liked the way you show us this snippet from his POV yet the faulty narration is so perfect that the reader sides with her.
